cool Absinthe

I recently discovered that absinthe is no longer illegal - at least in the EU. I'd be interested in hearing about any experiences people have had with this liqueur. The active ingredients - chemical compounds called thujones (?) are supposed to be mildly psychoactive.

Re: Absinthe

I just had some in June when I was in Amsterdam. The flavor was incredibly strong (lots of anise flavor)... I just felt intoxicated but no hallucinations cool

Re: Absinthe

It is nearly 60 years since I had absinthe. It was then dispensed in a conical glass with two engraved level marks - the lower one for the spirit and the upper for water which made it opalescent and drinkable. It is still legal in some countries, notably Spain, but in France it is replaced by Anisette Marie Brizard, which is not made from wormwood and contains no thujone.
