Unable to download Work even if forced.

I have the same problem as others. I cannot download any work although I have been patiently waiting for a while now. I went in and took out all my joined projects except the Help Conquer Cancer (HCC) accepting no others.
Here is some of the problem. I have plenty of RAM and about 82 GigB of disk free space avail. So What to do ??

PT, seems to me you specified the limitation either in the device profile or in the local preferences:

But is said I only have 913 or so MB of disk space available, not so I don't believe ??? I think if you could point me in the correct direction with some figures I can help myself. :>)
Sometimes the obvious just astounds me to no end.

English is not my native tongue:

Disk space remaining allocated to BOINC

You have set in your preferences to not allow use of more than 0.93gb.

Override by changing the local preference in 5.10.22, Advanced Menu, Disk and Memory Usage tab, first option and entering 10.00 gb for instance. BOINC does not reserve it, so be bold.

Hi PTabolinsky,
When I go to My Grid - Device Manager - Device Profile and click on my profile ( preferences ), one line says 'Use no more than: 3.0 Gigabytes of disk space'. I changed the default from 1 to 3 to avoid problems. I suspect that 1.0 GB would really be 900+ MB because of the difference between 1024 (1 K) and 1000. The programmers have been a little hasty on this point. Look at the Preferences in the Advanced View of BOINC Manager as well, since it is possible to set Local Preferences that differ from those on the website.

This is the problem that needs to be fixed:

OK . . . . when using local Boinc pro I reset preferences as follows:

The "disk usage" is now reset to 2.33 as seen above which should be OK (I used the figure 2.5 GB in the setting).
The other problem is the RAM setting I cann't get it to go past my max of one GB RAM in this mahine but my other two have 2 BG and 3 GB. Boinc will not cross the 972.31 MB of RAM although I have two 512 SIMMs ?? Do I change to 100 percent while idle ?? Doesn't seem like a safe thing to do but then I can be . . . . . . a worry wart! :>)

Well I went and changed while idle to 100 percent and got:

If the wart is on the posterior, suggest visiting medical attention biggrin

The Maximum Output profile defines it as 90%, so 972mb is ample.

Compiled a table last week of what the preset profiles put the different values at: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=17033 Take those as guidelines.

This is a misconfiguration by WCG. Help Conquer Cancer has very low disk requirements. The specified minimum should be 50 MB.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I will ask the techs to fix this immediately.
