I think I have reached the level on Kiva that I have wanted to.
It looks like I have enough invested now that the monthly payback
is enough to loan out again!

It looks like I have enough invested now that the monthly payback
is enough to loan out again!

I haven't checked mine in a while. Last time I did check, the loan was 30% paid back so I'm guessing it's quite a bit more than that, now.
Hmmm... Off to check it now.

[edit] Cool - the loan was 47% repaid, and there was enough in the account to make another loan. Now I have two loans out! biggrin

i joined our kiva team a long time ago (four months?) but i didn't make a loan (i know, what was the point then). seeing your post reminded me of that fact so tonight i made four loans. my plan is to make one a month. i also set up auto loan so if i don't login for a while and i have credit due to loan payback they will loan it out to someone else and not let it sit there. what a great thing to be part of. biggrin

Kiva's really grown over the time I've been involved with it. Originally, you didn't get access to the repayments until the loan was fully repaid so I ended up building up a good bit. I'm noticing that there are longer term loans being made and larger amounts. The newest change has been their move to funding loans here in the US. I think that still technically is a "pilot". It's been nice to see them expand their reach globally. I've almost loaned four times over what I've put in. While you're supposed to be able to get your money back out, I just keep relending it. It feels good to be able to make 3-4 new loans each month, especially these days.

Wow! You don't go halfway! biggrin As I recall, there's a separate site - www.kivafriends.org - that has several discussion boards if anyone is interested. There's some interesting stats too. I've browsed a little every now and then. Had to chuckle some too. While the words were different, some of the concerns and complaints seemed a bit familiar. laughing
