I don't remember ever seeing this one before.

Too many dynamic-link modules are attached to this program or dynamic-link module. (0xd6) - exit code 214 (0xd6)

Re: New (to me anyway) error: exit code 214 (0xd6)

There's no minus sign front of the 214 i.e. first indicator it's something in the OS. A 15 second Google search, where a -214 is per the code list:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/error_numbers.h

#define ERR_ATTACH_FAIL_SERVER_ERROR -214

or in short:

BOINC failed to attach to the project.

So far it's 2nd report to http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,31993_offset,0#347896 on 6 million results for DSFL, but it's good to have it on record, should it become frequent, or frequent for a single cruncher.

Would it be related to the 195 error?... well we've got a Beta in progress right now with extra logging to search out the ligands that do this.

Re: New (to me anyway) error: exit code 214 (0xd6)

The input files for this project are zipped up and sent as a single file. One of the first things that is done when a workunit starts is the input zip is extracting. For some reason that extract failed. Could be AV software blocking the disk writes? Do you continue to see this issue or did it only occur once?

Thanks,
armstrdj

armstrdj,

It only occurred once. The reason I reported it is because I had never seen that error code before and wanted to give a heads up just in case. Apparently it was just a fluke.

I had today two DSFL WUs bomb out on me with error 195, one this morning and another one a few minutes ago.

DSFL_ 00000091_ 0000056_ 0636_ 1-- and DSFL_ 00000091_ 0000023_ 0123_ 1--

Both times, I was actively burning DVDs (data backup at the end of the year) and it was only the DSFL WU that bombed, another running WU (don't recall what it was in the morning, now it's a FAAH WU) kept running just fine.

System is Windows XPProSP3, with 4GB of RAM and at the time of the crash at least 1GB of RAM available...

Any further information that one would need to try and track this down?

This is a "working computer", one where I do active work on all the time, even burned CDs/DVDs and this is in almost a year (on Tuesday wink ) the only time something like this happened... confused

Ralf

Re: New (to me anyway) error: exit code 214 (0xd6)

I've had at least three (3) DSFL that have "errored out" today. They appear to quit in the middle of the job, however at least one other recipient of the same job has returned a completed wu that is awaiting verification.

This has happened on two computers. Not sure what is going on here but will keep an eye on the situation.
