Does anyone else have several work units awaiting some kind of processing from the server? I have over 100 hours of work awaiting some kind of reply (valid, invalid, etc.)

It's normal for "Quorum 2" sciences to have to "wait" for the wingman. Few days ago had almost 300 hours against DSFL+GFAM. Just click on the WU name link on the Result Status page. There you can check why the hold up is, with at top the number of copies printed that were circulated for the task and the minimum number that need to be valid before they can be cleared for credit.
----------------------------------------Whilst, not everyone crunches 24/7. Many do only office hours or when doing their webbrowsing at home after work, so these part time volunteers take multiple days to complete a task. This is the reason why WCG gives 10 days to complete on most sciences... so everyone can participate at their own pace. 10 Days deadline is because else too many batches would build up on the servers, slowing the system down. At 800,000 results per day keeping the "live tasks" under control is a substantial matter. --//-- [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 11, 2012 6:04:04 PM] |
