Hi guys.
First of, let me start by saying how exited I am co contribute my share to the world wide effort being put into curing cancer and HIV. Now to the issue at hand, when I click on "My contribution" at the top Ribbon, Right next to the IBM logo on the website, I always get this error:  Any idea what might be causing it? Thanks in advance! |

Welcome to WCG and the forum
----------------------------------------In the first instance, just go back and try again. If the same error appears, ensure you have an up-to-date browser version. Also, you will not see any results until both yourself and 'wingman' have returned wu's that have validated each other. You could filter the results status page by 'Pending Validation' and see those in 'PV Prison' for results returned that are awaiting wingman's returns WU = work unit (job, task package of work) Wingman = someone doing the same work unit Pending Validation = awaiting validation (official version/name) PV Prison = as above (fourm users version/name)

Wrong faq or incomplete faq, but i see this once in a while when there's most definitely no stats update running, a busy server or whatever the cause. Wait a little and doing ctrl+f5 often resolves this.
----------------------------------------Midnight stats actually gives a specific message with an estimate time to completion. You might want to add the lock-out factoid to 'When are points and statistics updated', or create a related faq since you like brevity in most of them. All I have ever seen when I click on "My Contribution" is that error message. I've tried on numerous occasions over the last couple of weeks. It's the same using IE, Firefox and Chrome. My Results page shows four pages of results, 15 of them marked as "Valid" and the rest "In Progress" or "Pending Validation", and my "Points" show 85073, so I would have thought I would have made some contribution by now. Maybe not. But without any other feedback I'm finding the whole WCG experience a bit of a disappointment.

You have discovered a race condition in our website updates :P. Basically during the recruiting pilot we had 4 groups of members. We changed them to be all the same, but there was a multiple day period where new members were still being randomly assigned to a group. The public member stats page didnt' know how to handle the other 3 groups as it wasn't supposed to. I have converted those that were in the wrong group to the proper one. With the website updates of a week ago, this should not be an issue going forward. Didn't think to check the database to make sure everyone was on the same group now. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Tedi An important link, but it does little to address the problems people have with the lockout that can occur hours after the stated update. Especially when the phrase: "The statistics update will finish in about 0 minutes 0 seconds." shows up for a lot longer than a minute or two. Not to mention (at least in my case) the need to re-log into WCG if I absent mindedly hit refresh during the lockout period.  |
