So a new project doesn't mean much if it was to find a cure for Cotard’s. Very cool CFC1 - sign me up; I want to get a diamond Cotard's badge!!! I'd really love a project that finds a cure for morons. ![]() |

I just looked at the results for yesterday FFAH had 11 results come in on July 1 a long 20 days after they started to come down on June 12th the total run time was 1 day 4 hours 56 min and 26 sec
----------------------------------------That isn't science. this is something WCG it's managers techs and advisers need to address. Clear simple and soonest. Just my observation. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 2, 2015 2:02:26 AM] |

On a serious note, I agree that it's probably a handheld creature that's chewing the last WU. Or maybe that one guy crunching on Windows 95... Maybe the person who returns the last WU should get a T-shirt or some other token to signify the end of the computing phase of this project. The curious among us really want to know when and by whom the end comes. ![]() Cheers I would say that the person who computed the most WU's should get a T-shirt or something. At the very least the top ten crunchers should get recognition by having the name listed somewhere. Having the most computing time is not the same achievement as computing the most WU's. Take a 100 slow machines and after a year you would have 100 years of computing time. Take fast machines that in total have 100 cores and you would have 100 years after a year. One completed many more WU's than the other though. we talked about getting t-shirts over IBM network...but I think IBM wasn't up to it! then we talked about raising money 4 the science, so the GRAPHIC of large BEDGE (like picture) would be for sale - so anyone would buys it, can print it on shirts...also it's a promotion of BOINC, WCG & science project... in this way, a best among us could get the graphic for FREE, a special kind when a project finishes... none of it happened! ![]() I just looked at the results for yesterday FFAH had 11 results come in on July 1 a long 20 days after they started to come down on June 12th the total run time was 1 day 4 hours 56 min and 26 sec That isn't science. this is something WCG it's managers techs and advisers need to address. I agree...all job could be over sooner, if someone would have an interest in it! ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at Jul 2, 2015 6:32:16 AM] |

If we look at June 12 2015 as a base we ran 630,620 WU's here are all the days there after as a fraction X/630,620 All work units ran after June 12 total only 1.649 days work......that's just bad. Really 10^-05 and still dropping OMG

10^-5 of 250 years is one day. I can finish this project myself by tomorrow. :)
I think that's what's bothering people...the end of projects isn't a dramatic champagne-popping bang. It's more of a Fssssssss...ssss...ss.....s.ss...s....... sound. We should make it more exciting I think. Can we get a counter of how many WUs are "on the table" ? :) We all like watching numbers go up or down...that 99.99& is stressful. |

Maybe they should just take all remaining tasks and send them out to 5 computers. No need for additional resends or waiting. Take the first result (the other can still receive credit though) and get the project completed. It would take very little computing time to get them done. No Android devices are allowed and any device they sent them too has to have a history of quick turnarounds and valid results.
