Dual Processor - Support

Hi,

I have only just signed up for this project. I have an assortment of PC's now running the software. I have a question, one of my pc's is a dual processor athlon machine. but the application does not appear to be using the second processor. I have a similar PC withe one processor and the rating I am getting for both appears to be the same. Is there an option some where I have missed to support the second CPU?

Thanks.

Re: Dual Processor - Support

You don't say which version you are using.

The regular UD.EXE interface will only run on one side. To take advantage of both sides of a dual processor, you must use the BOINC program.

You can either run UD on one side and BOINC on the other, or BOINC on both sides.

There is also a BOINC area farther down in the forum if you have any questions concerning BOINC.

Re: Dual Processor - Support

When in doubt, google for "BOINC".

http://boinc.berkeley.edu

Download the newest version 5.4.9. Exit UD before running boinc. You can't run them both on the same device. After installing and running BOINC, you attach to each project. You can run one or many. There's a very long boinc account key in your profile in "my grid". You will need it for the first copy and paste.
