Hello WCG support Team!
----------------------------------------Yesterday I have been the 8th one to return a result in error for the same WU. Sorry, I could not find back if this is detected automatically or if it must be reported. So here it is: Cheers. Jean. |

Well, the problem looks clear enough. The WCG team get the data automatically, but it often helps when they have a report to correlate the error with.
So, thank you! |

In some of the recent batches, there have been gene families being compared to each other in which there are a large number of similarities. This causes the output size to increase and thus was exceeding the limit we set in Boinc. We are raising the limit so that this error does not occur. Hopefully we will not have too many batches where this happens. We are checking some of the work units to see what an appropriate maximum file size limit ought to be. Sorry for the excitement.

I find myself struck by a thought.
Would it be possible to make BOINC suspend work units that overrun on disk space or upload size, until they get updated information from the server. I know BOINC doesn't currently have any mechanism for modifying active work units, but is the idea completely daft? |
