Recently Identified cancer bio-markers?

confused Anyone here knows if there is a deeper project in this partial area of investigation? I guess that these bio-markers and proteins are the key to finish with the cancer. I do suggest to scientists to go further this area...

Re: Recently Identified cancer bio-markers?

the projects rosetta@home (boinc) and folding@home (non boinc) both concentrate on preoteins and one of their goals is fighting cancer by proteins

Re: Recently Identified cancer bio-markers?

And let's not forget our very own Human Proteome Folding project. Phase 2 is studying in detail certain malaria and human secreted proteins. I wouldn't be surprised if this included the biomarkers you mention. I understand that other researchers work closely with the HPF scientists, suggesting protein domains that will be useful to study.

Re: Recently Identified cancer bio-markers?

Hello maltimir,
One set of proteins that HPF2 is working on consists of cancer bio-markers whose structure has not been measured in the lab. You might want to look over all the distributed computer projects in the life sciences: http://distributedcomputing.info/projects.html
