You can install the UD agent and crunch temporarily with that, or attach your BOINC agent to one of the may other worthwhile projects available around the internet.
----------------------------------------I've bumped my "connect to server" time up to 1 day from the default 0.1 days. That'll store 24 hours worth of crunching on my computers and give them something to do in times like these.  |

Still not working and I have no other work units to do whilst its down :( How can I fix that problem?? If you want your PC to do something else before the WGC server comes back up, you could attach to another BOINC project. (Or you could install the UD agent) Or if you want to change settings so that your PC buffers more WGC work in the future, increase your "Connect to network about every" setting in your WGC Device Manager (the default is 0.1 days). I have re-allocated my dual core to UD agent(grid.org) and Folding@home until this gets resolved.
Just type 'msconfig' in 'run' on the start menu and goto 'startup' then uncheck BOINC. Install the other distributed computing programs until BOINC is permently back online. You can also uncheck any other startup programs you do not wish to uninstall or want to temporary disable them. Note: Use 'msconfig' in windows xp. Windows 2000 did not come with 'msconfig' but, you can download and run it I believe. |
