Hi Everybody,
I thought some of you might be interested in learning about a documentary that is being made about the first free public day school in Uganda, recently opened in 2003. The film they wish to make focuses on the lives of 156 students at the Nyaka AIDS Orphans School, which is dedicated to caring for orphans whose parents have died of AIDS as well as other impoverished children of rural Uganda. It is a day school providing free education, a loving and supportive environment, and one meal each day. This is usually the only proper meal the children eat. Nyaka has no electricity, no gas heating, and no indoor plumbing, but it is trying to save lives... one child at a time. The documentary, which is in pre-production and currently seeking funding, hopes to bring this story to the world so that they might receive the help they need. You can watch a teaser trailer for the documentary here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2oKUl5V7Aw And you can read about the Nyaka AIDS ORPHANS School here: http://www.nyakaschool.org/ It is very important to be able to make this film, so that the public eye can be brought to these brave and compassionate people. In a way, the documentary is meant to be a tremendous Public Relations event for the school, but also to educate the world about the severity AIDS crisis in Africa by putting it in concrete and unignorable terms. The film still needs your help to be made, however. If you are interested in learning more about how you can help, you can contact the film's producer, Ira B. Zinman, through the contact information below: IRA B. ZINMAN MT. WASHINGTON II ENTERTAINMENT, LLC 403 E. THIRD STREET BLOOMINGTON, IN 47401 EMAIL: Zinlaw@aol.com Thanks for your consideration. I hope a few of you will consider contributing to this cause. |
