Just had a call from Merle. She had a thunderstorm and now her computer is showing the message 'cannot find keyboard.....press F1 to continue'   Owch, I have no idea what to do, sorry Merle |

Could be the keyboard as a result of a surge during the storm, however I fear it may be the motherboard itself - if Merle has another keyboard available, perhaps she can try, or try that one on another machine?

Just spoken with Merle
She called Dell, and it seems that it is the motherboard. Her next door neighbour called round with another keyboard and that didn't work. They advised her to get in touch with any local PC repair shop and have them fix it  FYI It'a a Dell Dimension 5150..........I'm off to Google |

sound not good news for Merles Machine
