I joined at team called 'The Labyrinth' some time ago - the two people running it were 'Britanicus' and Octavius', they were the only members.
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=12201 It looked like a good fun active team to start with, however there appears to be something wrong with them, with several outsiders referring to them as 'Kevin'. My PC broke down and for some reason they stopped crunching too, apparently so as not to 'get too far ahead' of me - but since I've been back nothing has happened and they both seem to have disappeared leaving me on my own without warning. I just want to warn any folks here about them, or this 'Kevin' person - from my searching the forums he seems to feature in quite a few teams that start up then shut down leaving anyone else who joins in the lurch. I am now totally disillusioned - and am quiting crunching altogether, I just hope that my final post here will stop any other unsuspecting fools falling into the same trap. |

Run without a team if you are disillusioned....or join an established team that you know is on the up and up. regards. vaio. |

 If we get hold of them there will be some XtremeRetribution meted out  As vaio said, please don't let this one bad experience put you off - most folks here are great, so perhaps join another more established team, I'm sure they will welcome you with open arms.  |

FC, we'd be welcome to have you. I hope you stay and continue crunching. I've been crunching for WCG since two days after it started - both on my own and as a team member. Now I'm even a team captain too. One thing I've learned is that you'll see a little bit of everything here. There are folks with their own agendas that I can't begin to fathom. I've looked at your team thread and forums. It does appear that you had a problem with an outsider posting in your team thread. That in and of itself is not a problem but this user seems to have had something of an attitude. As for what happened to your other two team members, the truth is probably pretty benign. It appears that they are co-workers. Any number of possibilities could have occurred. Don't let that disillusion you. There are plenty of other teams that will welcome you. The one I captain now has been around since the beginning of WCG. Give us a try or any of the many good, active teams here.

FC - I'm sorry you have been dumped like this, please don't give up, there are many good teams here who would be happy to have you - including mine
 From what I read in your thread and the style, this does appear to be the work of a person referred to as 'Kevin'. There is alot of history to him which I won't bore you with, but some of us monitor as best we can his movements and warn where necessary - I'm just sorry I missed this one. Ady  |

You can quit a team and rejoin another team as many times as you want.
----------------------------------------Points earned at one team stay there. Conversely, if you are not on a team, team points get wasted. grid.org had a team called "base camp", which would join a specified team, crunch for a week to kick up their results, and then go somewhere else. They also came up with a "badge" for each guest crunch.

Father Christmas, you should get all the Elves together and give this Kevin character a good melting ! I'll give you a hand if you bring me something good in your sack this year. Someone told me you dont exist BTW, but I did'nt believe them.
BTW, if your PC breaks down, cant you just get another one ? |
