Have noticed no activity recently on WCG projects on my PC. I checked today to find that my stats show nothing after 4/9. Any help? Ideas? What's up?

It could be a lot of things. The BOINC project list also has a checkbox (worth checking) to allow work from other projects if one has none or is finished.
----------------------------------------If you are running BOINC, two other workunits from others need to be compared and averaged. It could take a few days to resolve statistics. In the meantime, just keep sending in workunits. We assume that workunits have been sent in. Never mind. They haven't. If it is the UD.EXE version, we need more information. There is a computer device number there that the techs may need. We don't have much to go on. If you are using BOINC, it would be possible to capture some messages. <waves hand> Presto! With so little information, we really cant do much and doing a data search followed by a second guess is not what should be expected with What's up? Give us the below and we'll follow from there: Agent, and if UD, what's the name the agent shows right hand top to whom the agent is registered Version, if BOINC? OS, if not UD agent? Selected WCG projects, with emphasis on the plural you use in your alert? Is you agent working at all or is it a paused mode? If BOINC, what is it saying in the messages log, when u select WCG and hit the update button in the projects tab There's no 'magic' showing in BOINC stats and there are like 10 'magic' crunching for different teams many with SETI, so What's up? @retsof..... i don't have the Abacadabra, It's magic book..... send me copy of the manual or the ISDN number so i can order with the publishers... you have my

Thanks for chiming in all. Wasn't sure what info would be helpful. Here goes.

A:How do I tell if BOINC? My profile shows BOINC info. Poking around on the running app, I found agent version 3.0(2844) Q:OS, if not UD agent? A:WXP, but don't know how to tell if UD. Q:Selected WCG projects, with emphasis on the plural you use in your alert? A:Checked profile to find I had three selected and two not. Updated to selected all. Had Genome, Cancer, and Proteome. Added AIDS and MD. Q:Is you agent working at all or is it a paused mode? A:How do I tell? Q:If BOINC, what is it saying in the messages log, when u select WCG and hit the update button in the projects tab A:What update button? I don't find one selecting the WCG app. Maybe, not BOINC? |

Okay, you have UD. You would know if you had BOINC ;-)
Now, look at the main agent screen. Is it doing anything? There is a status line at the bottom that should tell you what's going on. If there's a red message there, something's wrong. Sekerob wanted to check whether your agent is registered under the right name. So, look in the top left corner of the agent, and check it says "magic". If it has your real name, or something else, then you created an extra account. Not to worry, just log onto the website using that name, and you will see your points. |

Didactylos, please pardon me: I am not teasing you I am only trying to help magic not getting too confused...
---------------------------------------- If there's a red message there, something's wrong Although it will be displayed in red too, if the message says "Primary task is executing..." then all is fine. So, look in the top left corner of the agent, and check it says "magic". It's actually in the top right frame of that screen, the "Member information section", first line "Name:" just above "Total points".Good luck. Jean. |

The main agent screen shows my member name magic in the right hand panel at the top above the points.
The left hand panel shows no activity and no messages in red or any other color. On the preferences screen gotten to by way of the button with the checkmark, says that no tasks in progress. Still no joy!  |

Ooops. I should have fired up UD to check.... but I meant right, anyway. Left, right - colour me ambidextrous! Sorry.
 I have circled the area where status messages are shown. What does yours say? |

Well, this is going to be interesting. I brought up the main screen. It didn't look any different than it had been. In the area you circled, it said something about getting messages. Previously, I had tried clicking on the house button which the message seemed to indicate. Today, i guess because I've had a "morning killing" morning and somewhat neuronically numb, I clicked on the text itself which I'd bet that I had done so previously. 'lo, I get a message box stating something about my agent sending the server too many interrupts in some span of time. I close the window. I moused over the message text and don't think I clicked, but suddenly the message changed a couple of times and 'lo a task started. Been doing so for about 8 minutes now. I have reentered the Twilight Zone.
