Well hopefully all the IBM's can combine to compete with /.

In any case the article on Slashdot helped to attract around 3000 new people to the project... which has got to be a good thing!

purenitro --

I am glad for the publicity that the WCG got on the Slash Dot web site and the nearly ten percent increase in membership that resulted. The number one rankings are well deserved and I only hope that not having further challenges will not cause the interest and excitement on the team to wane. I am sure that the rest of us will figure out other ways to measure ourselves to keep up our own excitement, but we all should remain excited about the contribution that the entire WCG community is making towards humanity.

smile Hi Artega VH

[In any case the article on Slashdot helped to attract around 3000 new people to the project... which has got to be a good thing!]

smile I am in full agreement with that statement and I only hope more ways can be found to get another influx of members as strong as the /.ers

They sure have generated some excitement in the forums which can only be a great benefit to the project

Their success story needs to be splashed across a few more tech sites as it goes a long way to prove the power of advertising the efforts being made here by everyone

Bringing this project to the attention of only a few tech sites could bring in another 10,000 members in a very short period of time, as proven by the success of the little snippet on Slashdot.org

Regards
