F1 racer Tony Rolt dies

The last surviving racer of Formula One's first modern world championship Grand Prix at Silverstone in 1950 has died.

Briton Tony Rolt, who was 89, died on Wednesday, the British Racing Drivers' Club - of which he was a member - confirmed....

British Formula One team McLaren chiefs quizzed in 'spy' row

Senior figures at McLaren have been interviewed by Italian investigators a part of Formula One's ongoing spying scandal, the British-based team announced Thursday.
Last year McLaren were fined 50 million pounds and stripped of all their points in the 2007 Formula One constructors' championship by motorsport governing body the FIA after they were found guilty of being in possession of 'leaked' technical information from Italian rivals Ferrari.
That was after a 780-page Ferrari dossier was discovered at the home of McLaren chief designer Mike Coughlan.........

I don't know why Ferrari don't just drop it for the sake of Formula I. They got the title and the champion driver and now we should be looking forward to another season with McLaren already having to cope with being in the last garage on the pit lane.

They should be more worried about the discovery of a group of their own countrymen who have been constructing and selling imitation Ferraris on the net; fantastic bodywork apparently.

McLaren furiously denied on Friday that Italian police had discovered incriminating evidence in their latest inquiries into the industrial espionage scandal which rocked Formula One last year............
