They never do update it very often. Sorry.
But right now, FightAIDS@Home is in a transitional phase. They are about to start using an updated science application (AutoDock 4), and will be finishing off the experiments run on the previous application (AutoDock 3). I expect they will provide a detailed update when the upgrade is launched. |

The scientists did find to time to publish vol3 newsletter on May 10 2007 to give an update: http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/news/vol3.pdf . This newsletter link is found on the FA@H research page on the WCG website.
----------------------------------------There is a progress thread where the updates we learn of are posted: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...77&offset=50#lastpost

Just to keep things straight - the WCG has always used AutoDock 4 for FightAIDS@Home. AutoDock has been under continuous development since 1989. We began FAAH on the WCG shortly after AutoDock 4.0 was released. Earlier this year, Scripps released a major upgrade to AutoDock (still called release 4) and we are adapting this new version to run a new phase for FAAH. You can tell that Scripps is non-profit - if they were selling AutoDock we'd probably be up to version 14 by now. If you look at the AutoDock site ( http://autodock.scripps.edu/ ) you will see that they are adopting the GPL for the new version of AutoDock.
----------------------------------------Lawrence Added: We got the code for the new version of AutoDock before Scripps added the GPL, so we are adapting and testing a slightly older version of code than is shown in SourceForge. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 6, 2007 11:32:28 PM] |

The eerie silence from the scientists does seem demotivating (except for vol3 of the newsletter which seems very general). There were once talks of "wet" experiments of the "most promising" compounds, etc. Now we have no idea as to what is happening.
It is really great that the docking engine is getting optimized, but have we made any headway as far as the project? |
