I suspect that as fans6nl and lawrencehardin are on the right track with your character encoding and/or language settings for your browser. Can you let us know what settings you are using? thanks, knreed I am running Windows 2000 SP4, IE6 SP1, All my internet settings are set to default and I don't remeber If I ever modified the Locallization Settings of my computer. To be just sure I veryfied them minuts before I wrote something here... I tryied all Encoding style that I could and Now this is set to "auto select". To blaim the IE6, I installed Mozilla, and Heck the same result... Only question marks. ![]() I am really getting confused, The kind of problem I never saw before, With this machine and other I used. and to add to all this... Just to try that my PC could be the problem. I tryed worldcommunitygrid.org on some other machine on local LAN and to my surprize it jumped directly to my account on that machine irrespective of I never logged in to WCG except from my machine. and again ? 's on that machine My PC is connected to Internet throw a proxy server. If this issue [my account on other machine] is related to cacheing...? my net Admin denie this, as file cache is off there................................... Sctaching my head.. )0( ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry for BAD english ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 20, 2005 11:59:33 AM] |

I too suspect that the problem may be the national language character set on your system, and perhaps others you might find around you in order for the characters of your own language to be displayed correctly. As I do not have Windows 2000 running on either of my systems, I am unsure of how to check the language setting on that system, however, with Windows XP Home Edition, in IE, if you click on Tools and select Internet Options, you will see a button marked "Languages" under the tab "General". When I open the Language Preferece window, I see that my system is set for "English (United States) [en-us]". If possible for you to locate this on Windows 2000, what language preference do you find? |

----------------------------------------I am so glad I was able to help. ![]() After writing this, I visited http://www.punjabonline.com/servlet/index?Action=Main&S=y and see that I was probably wrong on Hindi since Punjabi is also one of the languages that can be set. The pictures from Punjab were interesting to see. I liked the "Golden Temple" (Harminder Sahib) in Amritsar as well as the photographs of the rural countryside.
