Re: Computers tips

Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell created a site a long time ago called " http://www.SYSINTERNALS.COM ".

Since then, Mr. Russinovich has become a Microsoft Employee and the site has been renamed to:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/default.aspx

There are a plethora of tools on this site and they are all free.

Re: Computers tips

I agree with BarneyBadass above - very useful tools.

I would recommend powerpro. This is a great tool that allows you to rid your system of a lot of other small utilities such as keystrokes to programs, run commands when windows first open, virtual desktops, clipboard extender, keyboard macros, shutdown, show all folder files in a menu, sounds, wallpaper, and screensaver activation and randomization, scripting and many many more.

There is an active support group if any one is interested.

Re: Computers tips

Does your keyboard seem to be tired? As a result do you keep missing letters - especially when typing ID and password and you don't know which keeps giving the message, "Wrong ID or password?" Try typing both in the ID cartouche, separated by a space. When you are satisfied that both are correctly displayed, select the pw and drag it into the correct space. Voila!

Re: Computers tips

And for those of you experiencing performance issues you can go here:

Black Vipe's Web Site

I've been to this site off and on over the years and there's always something to learn here!

Re: Computers tips

Thank you too smile

btw - if you get an advertisement in full sceen mode and/or a question, "Why am I redirected here?" - you weren't! A key logger has sold some of your idling time (at WCG's expense) to an advertiser. Just click on the eXit button, and your idling time will be restored.

Re: Computers tips

Just in case you haven’t seen it yet, some former Google engineers launched a new search engine Cuil
(pronounced “cool”), which claims to be the “world’s biggest search engine,” indexing 120 billion web pages, or roughly about three times what Google supposedly does

Get more info Here

A quick round of testing indicates that Cuil has some room for improvement — the relevancy of search results could be much better. But Cuil does have some momentum. On the very first day, it was the fifth largest web site referring traffic and the traffic was widely distributed. (In other words, one search term didn’t send traffic to the same page.) Not bad for the first day out of the gate
