Updated to read more / newer versions of I7 Ivy and AMD http://www.cpuid.com/news.html And the must have read out of your hardware, discovering stuff in my I7-2760QM lappie I had not known before, to include an aged BIOS, now F1C since a few hours: Speccy: http://speccy.softonic.it/download#downloading (You don't need to speak Italian to understand "Download", and you can choose the interface language at that ;P ) Rob, You were right about "download" in any language. Speccy is a great tool for documentation and trouble shooting. I've installed it on desktops and laptops. Thanks for the tip. Forgot to mention that CPUID (CPUID-Z) comes in real handy as well. ![]() |

Have you ever needed a special character? -Iâm talking about a special text character! Sure, thereâs a bunch of Alt codes you can use to get results, but if youâre like me, you need a more visual approach. So, in Windows 7 or Vista hit Start and type in Character Map in your search box. Now either hit Enter or double-click the Character Map icon that appears in the results. So, in Windows 7 or Vista hit Start and type in Character Map in your search box. Now either hit Enter or double-click the Character Map icon that appears in the results. From here, simply specify your font at the top and locate the special character you want to insert and double-click it. All of your selections will appear in the Characters to copy box, so all you have to do is hit the copy button when youâre done and then paste (CTRL+V) into your chosen program Jean Pierre, Thanks for the tip. An updated suite is out of the SysInternals collection... Process Explorer, Contig(uous), CacheSet, some 70 in total: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb842062 Maybe where PageDefrag fails [it does for me on W7], Contig might work, but since I've got the VM on a small logical exclusive partition, it does not really matter. Quite a few are of the "Use with -extreme- caution". Unless you know what you're doing or getting into, it's -you- that will have to do the recovery to... no hand-holding >>> refer to MS support / forums.
