I have been running UD and I went and installed BOINC on a new PC I just got. It appears to run all the time vs the UD running only as a screen saver. Can I run boinc only as a screen saver?

BOINC doesn't run as a screensaver, but I never ran UD as a screensaver either. The screensaver took several percent away from the crunching.
----------------------------------------I set the screensaver to (none) and let the energy saving features turn off the monitor after 15 minutes of inactivity. It is still possible to ask to see the BOINC graphics screen at any time from either the simple or advanced BOINC view.

Hello peteralan,
BOINC does not have a screensaver-only mode like UD, but it does allow you to set your preferences so that BOINC only runs after X minutes idle, which has much the same effect. Lawrence |
