As always I wonder if the team will drop in and have anything to say about our contribution?
I'm hoping some from my old team will show up but they don't seem to visit their own forum very much. The team captain passed away last year and I don't know if anyone stepped up to take the responsibility.

I haven't decided what to do today. Because the sun finally decided to shine on Denmark,
I just want to be outside and enjoy the cold weather
- we have a dusting of snow doubling the light from the sun
and the color of the sky. I had almost forgotten it is blue above the clouds.
Could we just relax today, acpartsman, and take a meal at a sidewalk café with blankets wrapped around our legs?

If you succeed in luring flodisar from your former team over, it would be nice. He seems ready to be talked into something .....
If flodisar decides to become a captain of The International Team, we could find a way to return his favor, I think.

I would like to get to know flodisar for two reasons:
1. flodisar is my neighbor (Sweden)
2. I don't know what 'flodisar' means. I think I heard it should be 'hippo' as in hippopotamus, but a search has not confirmed that.

We are aiming for the stars, and we'll take a trip half way to them today
Base Campers, we’ll go to Pike’s Peak. yodap, you have a raincheck
Dress warmly, by all means.
First we go to Manitou Springs in that Maybach
– seeing equipment by the brand of Manitou always cranks up my good mood one more notch
Peterbilts they ain’t but not a bad substitute…
Now, we’ll enter the slanted cogwheel train.
Those of you who were part of the Base Camp crew trekking to Hungary will remember taking cogwheel train trips. Those were short ones and homey. Going to the very top of Pike’s Peak takes a long time, we go through very rugged terrain, and had it been summer we would have had good chances of seeing wildlife – deer, elk, bear, mountain lions, marmots, and bighorn sheep as well as birds of prey.

We’ll arrive at the very top 4,300 m/14,110 feet above sea level. It’s cold, cold, cold and windy.
We have a unique view. You’ll think nobody live within a radius of 600 km/400 miles and you sense the Atlantic far out there to the east and the Pacific to the west. This view was what inspired Katherine Lee Bates to write the poem ’America the Beautiful ’
Without being a feminist, I find it especially nice that those lyrics are put on paper by a woman more than 100 years ago when women had many chores and little time for creativity.
Of course, we shall see the commemorative plaque. If you want to sing it, this is a fine place for that

The wind chill is –12C/10F, so we’ll stumble into the restaurant and have hot cocoa for starters … and order Today’s Soup, Chili con Carne with a extra Chili, and hot fugde over something hot with hot coffee, before we return downhill to our Maybach.

I wish you all good crunching without pit stops.
We have room for more Base Campers – just look – room for a lotta tents - you may need to move a rock or two, though
