Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Yes, it's always interesting to see/know about how people earn their living.
A village near me was all about making glass. So, yes, please, tell us about the glove manufacture.

I don't know about your other visitors, but I should like my roquefort creamy and sweet.
It doesn't matter if there is much or little green.
I suppose this version will be toward the Gorgonzola side?
I'm a little tired of the Danablu crumbling so much - and strictly spoken we ought to go easy on butter and salt .....
The pear sounds very nice - it would be a first for me. So thank you. Yes please.

Alors merci. Oui s'il vous plaît.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

We no longer have a car, we go by train to Copenhagen and then by bus to Rudkøbing where my sister in law was waiting to drive us the last few kilometres. I don't recall having trouble driving, and would probably be doing so daily, but our car developed sufficient rust that it went the way of a lot of iron things a few years ago.

blushing I didn't know we have a bus to Rudkøbing.
But I am aware that many new buslines domestically and abroad, too, have established themselves.
Do you go directly Copenhagen-Rudkøbing?
I'm a total ignorant on public transport
- and since I began using GPS I also no longer have my sense of direction
Amazing how fast that one degenerates

That must be what the EVGA boys call 'bunkering'
mwauhahaha ....
INvoluntary bunkering biggrin

I would go absolutely hysterical myself from withdrawal ....

We better come and trim the trees anyway wink
Is your internet connection landbased or mobile broadband or something a mermaid doesn't understand?

Internet at home is cable, at Brendas office in Martinsville it's fiber and at her office in Stuart (that's the one that's offline) it's landline which is the only thing available there. Hopefully the City of Martinsville will have another option for me in a few months. They have fiber there but can't get it to the office. We really need more speed as the best service Centurylink has to offer is 20/2 and we can't run a VPN or VOIP on 2mps.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Little Mermaid,

Regarding Roquefort, creamy and medium green (to be sweet), I think it is with Gabriel Coulet that you will feast the most. But I do not know if it is found in Denmark, let alone at what price! Here, passing by friends who work there, I can have the 'bread' (the whole cheese, about 3Kg) for 25 €. While in a dairy, for the same price we have 300g ...

As for cooking with pear, it's like all sweet and savory, it must be well dosed. But it's really a classic, almost every restaurant offers dishes with a sauce like that.

acpartsman

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

They do not have Roquefort at all in the discount markets where I go,
and I had a hard time finding any online, and no Gabriel Coulet.
Finally, I found this one - a Roquefort Papillon.
I can buy 100 g at DKK 34 - that's €4.50
So 300 g would be €13.50
Is the Papillon a poor Roquefort compared to Gabriel Coulet?
How do you make the pear sauce?

rose
