Great stuff themoonscrescent. I had a lay-off last year after a rather excessive electricity bill, crying but started again after about 8 months.
I got an i7 a couple of months ago and it is producing as many results as my 4 dual athlons combined.

Re: Top 1000 Ranking

Hi Tomnuttall,

Yep I can understand the cost, mine's not too bad at the moment. I thought you had got yourself some new machines, as you've been gaining on me on the Boincstats site, for a little while now.

I'm doing the house up to sell at the moment which will seriously disrupt my output for a fair old while, you'll probably have passed me by the time I'm back at full speed devilish

Re: Top 1000 Ranking

Just wanted to say hi to all. I've been crunching for the team for a little while now. Running a quad core Intel 9450 here overclocked to 3.5GHz. Unfortunately its shared between WCG and 16 other projects. I'm thinking about asking my boss if i can install WCG on my work machine which is a 3GHz Core 2 duo (basically the dual core version of my home CPU). If i get the go ahead there, that one will be crunching exclusively for WCG. who knows, i may get all the work machines that are left on 24/7 running WCG. I know that WCG doesnt use it but its a shame i cant get GPU crunching working on here, everytime i enable it, it just freezes the machine. anyways, as i said earlier, hello to all.

Re: Top 1000 Ranking

Guys, why oh why are there 3 teams representing the UK? =( If we all teamed up then we could get ahead of, for example, the Ukraine... or even France. Surely that would be for the best? There are about 1500 or so "active members" of UK-themed teams out there... why aren't they all in one place??? Grr

Re: Top 1000 Ranking

... when I say 3, I of course mean 3 major-ish ones, but including Scotland, Wales, etc. there are 8 UK teams with over 40 members! The 3 that annoy me most by their independent existence are this one, UK BOINC team, and BOINC UK.

Re: Top 1000 Ranking

Well you can have my contribution as an addition. I'm crunching exclusively for WCG and live and work in Egypt. I've just quit Team OCUK (after reaching #1 with 11+ million points) because I was bored with team inactivity. I'm surprised that points are not transferred with membership soI'm afraid that I am starting fresh with Team UK.

So it's a big 'HI' to all Team UK members and watch out - I'm coming up through the ranks.
