You'd be better of with €20 notes instead the way Sterling is going! ![]() I haven't known whether I am coming or going these last 2 days. Thursday felt like a Sunday with chores round the house and getting ready for work. Today has felt like the first day back and a Monday. Just as long as I don't go in to work tomorrow.... ![]() |

Evening all
What a beautiful thing the White five pound note was. It's now a bit impossible to recognize what sort of difference it was from ordinary currency. When I first started work in the City, my salary was £15 per month. One month when I was a bit short a much senior (in age) colleague lent me a fiver, which was one of these beautiful things. I had qualms about first using it as any shop would have looked suspiciously at the like of me pulling out a fiver. In today's terms a starting salary in such an environment would probably be at lest £24k pa leading to an equivalent note of a value in excess of £1500; hard to imagine. I'm also glad I didn't exchange back the small pile of Euros from my last visit to Paris. But, that was sheer laziness and no financial acumen. |

It's really a blessing when you don't have to change money when going on holidays.
