Re: Edwardians there we go

Evening all

I agree that many motorists are piggish in their treatment of cyclists. I hate the way that so many totally ignore the dedicated cycle lanes around here.
My original remark was, of course, 'tongue in cheek'.
I still have my bike in the shed but haven't used it for years now. I also have no car so I can't be tempted to be a brute myself.
I do think, however, that cyclists need to recognise that they are also bound by the Highway Code.
It's quite common to see cyclists here, riding without lights and ignoring the whole idea of one way streets and that pavements are for pedestrians.
I had many years with two wheels and then three before graduating on to four. My first powered vehicle being a 350cc 1928 vintage Calthorpe. It had been laid up during the war and cost £15.

No offense taken and yes, there are also ignoring cyclists. I must say that I also do not follow every rule but I'm always trying to anticipate on other traffic. whether pedestrian or car.
Without lights is really unnecessary with those led-lights these days, very handy.
I guess it is what someone said on tv, in a car you get annoyed by certain cyclists and on a bicycle you get annoyed by certain car drivers.
