Re: TBA

It's all part of our crafty plan to cut down on carbon emissions. We don't put higher taxes on aircraft, just make it so uncomfortable than no-one wants to fly.
Pretty smart move seems to me!

Off for the annual 'Village' spring clean tomorrow morning. We gather as many as possible and then clear up all the rubbish that has accumulated in the nooks and crannies, in the flower beds, around the graveyard and on the railway embankment.

Of course, the junk comes back again but it does slow things down when you have to be the first one to throw a beer can or a chest of drawers over the fence. I just hope it's not pissing down.

Re: TBA

Unless they sank I think the result was a forgone conclusion. I think the race should go back to being one of undergraduates and not almost professional rowers that happen to be taking a postgraduate course conveniently. A 26 year old in a University race, I ask you.

Still it's a funny old English tradition. We decide as kids which colour we're going to support and I guess most of us never change. I just liked the light blue colour and so have supported Cambridge now for more years than I like to think, not that they will have been aware of it.

Later, however, visting both places, I still prefer Cambridge to Oxford as a place rather than a university which, of course, may be coloured because I spent a few nights there at conferences.

The rain kept off for our Spring Clean so the council now has a substantial pile of crap to collect.
