shock Re: Stormy Weather!

Yes, we did start to speed up. But there are still so many systems not reporting in. In fact, I have had to redo 3 systems here myself. So the best thing to do at this point is check your systems. There are many reason why a cruncher can hang do to the data center move it seems.
that's cuz stupid boinc caches DNS....... it should have an option to disable this for a while devilish
Ah, good point. Thanks! biggrin

We need to dump all work units from the old data center ASAP!

Re: Stormy Weather!

Just found that one of my Dual Quad Core systems had a bunch of stuck workunits. Dumped them all and reconnected and got a bunch of new work. They are being processed now.

Re: Stormy Weather!

Looks as if a few of us needed some R&R. Just bad timing.

Stiff upper lip captain. It can be lonely at the top.

Re: Stormy Weather!

Hehe, maybe I should ask the vicker to write a prayer for better weather. I've done everything else.

Re: Stormy Weather!

Looks like I've finally hit my wall with regards to my ranking. For the first time since I signed up in June, my current ranking didn't increase with my points. I gained points, but lost about 10 places in ranking.

Currently 13,150.

*sigh*

Oh well, full steam ahead, anyway!

LOL, ice storms?
It's been below zero most of the week, want to trade?
it looks like I have found most of my systems and got them back online.
Whoever planned the move of the servers didn't think it through very well.

Re: Stormy Weather!

I had to pull a dual core xeon off the grid. I also found that my slow AMD was having issues when I attempted to bring it back online yesterday so it got scrapped. So I went out and got myself a new system. Quad Core 2.33 GHz with 6 GB of RAM, 500 MB Hard Drive, 1 GB Video Card, and a Dual Layer DVD Burner.

Built the system last night only to find out it uses USB keyboard and mouse which I had the mouse but no keyboard. Back to compusa tonight for a new set.

I did bring the system to the office today and installed Vista Ultimate 64 and got it crunching so it is crunching workunits as I type.
