---------------------------------------- For those of you seeing this thread for the first time (or more), please consider joining us. It is more interesting when crunching with a small, yet very dedicated Team like ours. Live From The Andrax Islands located somewhere in the Ring Of Fire in the Pacific! Haha! Have been watching too many NatGeo and other science documentaries. I have learned more about "Climate conditions" that gets very little coverage. New and novel scanning technologies have revealed some surprising and shocking revaluations beneath the seas like a series of shows called "Draining The Oceans". Must see TV! From the depths of the North seas off and all those ships sunk in the great WW1 epic "Battle of Jutland. The scannings show some and tell of gigantic land shifts and horrible earth/mud/rick slides that have destroyed some land /islands (and also creating some). ZERO Hour predictions about certain cities and why specially trained 'geothermal scientists' are taking measurements in several named cites around the planet. Civilizations like the Minoans in Greece disappeared and why "Atlantis' may not be a fable. Some of these things are happening now in the Pacific and also clues about how the Cascadian Range may be a major problem. The simulations of these horrific land slides at terrifying speeds is just mindboggling. ----------------------------------------Well, this is a first. The front page of this recruiting thread has not moved it seems. Was planning to post a couple of well deserved 'Congrats thread'. This almost reminds me of the old UD.org distributed computing project that did not follow the Boinc credit. The posts would be like what I saw just moments ago. I am not saying anything negative, but it is worth noting. That's ok, another week is fine. Just do not want crunchers here think that I am trying to spam. We have ENOUGH of those continual posts here anyway. Same peeps etc. We don't spam.  Those HUGE volcano craters under the seas are something to see in those NatGeo documentaries. Take a gander, it really much better than I can describe: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/tv/drain-the-oceans/ The CGI scenes of those gigantic earth/rock/mud slides are mindblowing. There are actually FOUR daunting volcano 'wedges' close to Japan. They have a full time crew checking several locations where they have 'stations' in several spots to take measurements and so forth. Hard to believe that the Japanese people even have to ponder that. They know how to deal with nature in ways that everuone can learn from. That is another story from NatGEO: like utilizing Giant Carp in a cooking section where that water flows from a large stream and the Carp actually cleans the water as it is a bottom dweller. You can see the cook actually place her/his hand to reach for food that is kept there and the Carp does not swim away! Wow! ----------------------------------------Major Congratulations to Cmdrd for exceeding 360,000 Results Returned Too quiet here! I mean the WCG. They should be getting more projects with better partners who research with much more regularity than academia. I just erase my post about this when I saw just minutes ago about a question posed by a cruncher in one of the projects and the WCG PR person stated that an answer could be available in January of NEXT YEAR.  Let's hope that more projects will show up soon. In the meantime I want to make sure that all of our Team Mates are recognized here as there is no answer about the WCG providing a mere Certificate of Accomplishment like they do at the Stanford folding at home project. Very classy and I even got one before we came here to the WCG (as well as from UD.org). Congrats Macromancer for surpassing 80,000 Results Returned in a very fast period of time! Oops! Macromancer, sorry how I made that thread sound like a drag race instead of the usual "for exceeding" part. It did have a lot of of looks though! Anyways, the WCG has problems with some academia research outfits who take a whack of vacation time. Truth is is that we crunchers at the WCG helped quite a few Staff Research on getting/help create them with White Papers that also got them promoted to better jobs like being a Professor or a Team Lead somewhere else. Yes, that is true. Hope the WCG will get more aggressive research labs to get MORE RESULTS which we lack here at the WCG. We know this part is true. Look at all the big time Teams and see the lower results that they are now returning. Cushy jobs that these Professors have now-a-days.
