In a somewhat somber post in the recruiting forum, we have news about a new Boinc client 7.14. I think that maybe we will be crunching GPU work units very soon. Stanford University has been doing this for years and is the world leader in Distributive Computing.

They have found ways to utilize GPUs because of the speed in relation to folding proteins 3-4 times faster. I am sorry if that info is not 100% correct. If you notice the info in the release, GPU improvements and so on can be found:

Mac: screensaver works with OS 10.14 Mojave
Mac: screensaver works with dual-GPU MacBook Pro running OS 10.13+
Mac installer: don't overwrite project list if newer
Fix GPU detection when run with --detach_console or using $PATH
Update NVIDIA GPU detection for recent models
Change simple prefs dialog behavior to match advanced
If using a dynamic account manager, show AM user name in Manager rather than randomly-generated project account names
Move new-version URLs from cc_config.xml to nvc_config.xml (so that WCG can customize)

Anyway, I hope this is true. When WCG had GPu work units, I bout a good car (for that time) just to cruncher more results.

EDIT: PLEASE NOTE that I crunched those nearly 14 years ago, before our Team moved here at the WCG. The listed date in the certificates are the retrieval date.

I had an email asking if I was crunching there. BTW, I and some of my Team Mates back then got a 'yellow card' there because we protested about a few issues with a couple of volunteer mods there. Vaio was also on the team back then for a short while like me.
