UD Agent sucks!

Getting a bit tired of the "BOINC sucks!" threads, so I thought I'd start a "UD agent sucks" thread. Pile on smile

smile Re: UD Agent sucks!

I have to say that I am still running UD on several devices without problems.

I know that there are many issues with the UD agent, but if you had a single core machine and wanted a simple installation, UD did the job.

I have to say though, that the UD agent is now outdated, and although BOINC is not the most user friendly software in the World, it does not take long to get use to and it does the job much better on new machines with several cores.

I am unable to access the machines running UD, but if I could, I would uppgrade them to BIONC.

Happy crunching all.

Re: UD Agent shucks!

Actually, I've no idea what UD agent does. It runs and never tells if a job is valid or not.... would really not know if it ran all the way to 100% or boinced at 90% and quickly fetched a new job, lest i was watching it, and that only on 1 core, when such computers are not even sold anymore.... time to move on.

If permission was not granted to use them in the first place, then there's no love lost.

All of MY machines that YOU do not have access to have been upgraded to BOINC.
