Hello JohnQ118,
The database on the server is locked several times a day for short periods while updating statistics, etc. Just try again an hour later if you happen to hit one of those periods. Lawrence |

Still getting UD work, but then it was weekend. Somehow think it will continue until knreed has pushed out the BOINC install to the UD users within IBM which represented half of those left on UD. A Little reprieve for the stragglers, who had not heard that BOINC is 3x more efficient in completing batches due it's much lower redundancy.

My weekly email reminders say:
After May 31, 2008, World Community Grid will no longer be using the UD software... But on My Grid it says: ...plans to stop sending work units to computers with the UD software by June 30, 2008. Which date is correct? |

I think the actual date will depend on when the last batches of work are loaded into the UD system. Extra work will be sent out until all batches are complete (which depends on how many people are left on the UD system), then the system will be left on for a while so that stragglers can get points.
This means that the cutoff date isn't that precise. I'm guessing though. Don't delay: migrate now. (Yes, I know you've migrated already.) |

Greetings,
Didactylos is correct in that there will still be a trickle of work to be completed on the UD system to finish off the last batches that have been loaded in. The last batch for FAAH has been loaded in and is sending out work as we speak. Usually it takes 3 weeks for a batch to finish completely but could be shorter due to no new work being added. HPF2 will start it's last batch of work within the next 24 hours and those take 3 weeks from start to finish. Members will start seeing no new work other than the trickle within the next week I would estimate. But by the end of the month there should be no more trickle of work to be completed. Like Didactylos suggest, migrate soon :) -Uplinger |
