So I've noticed that there's a pretty tight close for 1st and 2nd (marysduby and dataman), and then another really strong race between me and Blizzie for 3rd and 4th. Are there any other really close races?

Tight close for me and you? You're kidding. It clearly shows that I won by far.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 28 smilesmile

Hey folks, you may be seeing a few changes here soon. My daughter is starting kindergarden on Monday so my schedule will be changing. We'll have to start our day at 6AM as her school starts at 7:30. Currently, the end of day stats update isn't done until right at 10:30PM here. By the time I'm done, it can easily be 11:30 PM like it is now. As much as I may like to, I just can't do the all nighters anymore, much less get by on 4-5 hours of sleep. I strongly suspect that I'll start posting the stats the following morning. Perhaps when e go off Daylight Savings in November and WCG finishes the stats update at 9:30 PM, I may be able to switch back. Of course, the talk of lots of database work and changes by the admins, not to mention converting from points to credits (divide your points by 7), the time it's supposed to take for WCG to update the stats is supposed to shrink some. I prefer getting the stats out at night right after the update finishes and maybe that will get easier as these changes happen. Net is, don't panic if you don't see our team stats here at their usual time, at least not until the next morning. biggrin

The point to credit conversion is going to cause some one-off work for me. It will be worth it though. External sites like BOINCStats and FreeDC will reflect our team effort correctly in relation to all the other teams and projects. I'm going to need to go adjust the daily team stats data files I've been saving but that's a one off. The Points Hall of Fame banners will need to be redone along with our points milestones. Clearly, dividing the existing ones by 7 will be the starting point but some adjusting will be needed as milestones are best when they're nice round numbers. Again, a one off but I'll half to redo some graphics work which may not be too bad if the spacing works out right. I need to update the header image anyway.

We've been doing considerably better as a team than I would have predicted this summer. I had been bracing myself for a drop down near 100K a day. To be doing 200-300K a day in the normally slowest time of year for us is unbelievable but imensely enjoyable! The one aspect of it that could be a cause for concern is more of a risk exposure sort of thing. We've been shifting from a sizable base of members returning several hundred to 1-2,000 points a day to a smaller active base that is predominately returning above that and some significantly so. With that mix, the loss, for whatever reason, of a team member could have a much more significant impact on us than before. Talk Mom and Dad, or Sis, into leaving that laptop on and sign them up too. I try to nab a co-worker from time to time too. Surprisingly, it's almost as if you're a stranger banging on the door selling magazines or candy in terms of the reaction so I know it's tough. We need to continue working on growing. Of course, 3.5 years down the road from our start as a team and still being an active and viable one is no small accomplishment either. We clearly have a committed and dedicated crew that I am quite proud of!

Dang, it's coming up on midnight and I'm not done. Oh well, I never could be concise. laughing Stay tuned.......night folks.......
