Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 31 smilesmile

How come GPUGrid isn't downloading new tasks for the queue? I have one work unit only and it's the one I'm currently crunching.

Hummm ... I've not encountered that one. I ass-u-me you have all four (or 2) cpu cores running and are on 6.3.21. Try going to projects, highlight gpugrid and do an udate and see if it requests new work. I looked at their server and there is work available (they ran out yesterday). Other than that, I'd wait and see if it requests more as the current one nears completion.

6.3.21 does have a problem handling the additional work buffer (I think I posted that before). But the problem has been requesting too much work on the cpu side but not the gpu side. I'll poke around in the boards and see if I can find a trouble report on it.

The video card is in my C2D.
My last work unit is about 60% done. Maybe some new ones will popup as it near completion. I have the buffer set to 5.0 days. The CPU ones continue to download but GPU doesn't (well at the moment it isn't).

Their forum is pretty dead.. so is WCG's sadly. crying

Actually their forum is quite lively during the week (informationally not SMAP-wise). For some strange reason ... normal people have other things to do on the weekend ... the nerve of them!!! laughing biggrin laughing

^ 11 hours? That can't be right.

Also for the current work unit, the remaining time is messed up. It says 10 minutes but it goes down one second for like 7 actual seconds.

If I end up getting problems I'll probably just not GPU crunch.

Like I said before, the cpu time and time to completion makes no sense ... its not measuring GPU time.

If I end up getting problems I'll probably just not GPU crunch.

Well, you do need a high tollerance for frustration. wink My 9800 is still not working. I'm probably going to shut it down until there is a stable 6.4.x version. Right now there are too many fingers in the code.

There is still hope. biggrin I didn't realize the changes made with Precission were not permanent and I had not checked "apply at windows startup". I rebooted before going to bed and the clock speeds went back to the original settings. laughing crying laughing I'm still learning.

Yes, GPUGrid seems to report less frequently than some of the other projects. Sometimes as much as two days. Will be nice to see those credits in your sig. applause
