Re: Join Mot(e!!!) and you just might save the world

Oh no I've made a terrible marketing blunder shock

"Classic" MOT will be back on the shelves from this Saturday

Try the MOT v TW challenge you'll know "the real thing" when you taste it.

Just wondering what Graham has been cooking up recently. You just can't leave him alone for a couple of hours without him adding/changing/reporting ... something new.

And here I thought you had taken a couple of days off to go fishing, Graham.

Rigggghhhhht! tongue

smile Good Morning Julied
I am back out in the real world attending the watch fairs on the weekends, during the summer
biggrin So everyone is getting a bit of peace from my rantings over the weekends
Here is a graphic to let you know I have someone keeping an eye on things for me, in my absense wink

Re: Join Mot(e!!!) and you just might save the world

Very good Steve ..

Hi barney15c - noticed that earlier myself. The recognition and exposure sure is good but shame it's not further up the home page sad .. it does not catch the eye immediately . Glad they went with Results Returned which should enable us to stay in view even if / when TW pass us wink .

It's nice to see the recent posts from some team mates, who like me, are not so high up the team ladder .. until now it seemed like nerd01, julied & myself were the only 'mortals' that were posting ..

Your team mate

Re: Join Mot(e!!!) and you just might save the world

Extract from an article this morning from CNN
-----------------------------------------------------

To re-brand or not to re-brand - that is the question?
-------------------------------------------------------------
Clearly when a brand is incredibly well established in the minds of its customers it is an important decision when and how to update. Earlier this week in a small (or even little) town in England such a decision was taken with the world beating MyOnlineTeam. But analysts have been questioning whether the recent radical change of name will affect market presence? Not only was there the addition of an extra 'Express' to the team name which markets had been expecting (due, according to insiders, to a mildly perverse and inexplicable locomotion fixation) but three whole extra !!! as well. Startling. Asked for his opinion, a member replied "Did you just pee on my leg?"

Will they retain identity? Will new users become bewildered and confused when pursuing the team name from the WCG homepage? We can only wait with bated breath for the results in the coming days. Watch this space for updates. Crunching Nuts Network

smile Hi Vialls
I feel compelled to paint you the real picture here
When faced with the realisation that the team name had been changed on the team home page, I quickly made a new header banner for the Team Website saying MY ONLINE TEAM EXPRESS as shown below:

biggrin I received a quick reply from David, less than one hour later, advising me that the banner was not required, as the name change was just a temporary bit of fun and the name was being changed back to My Online Team at the weekend

smile Quote from Paws
OK Team time to up the ante!
I propose, if this is possible, to rename our team from MOT to MOTE. This is short for My Online Team Express and as we are seemingly a distraction to the TW team it would be an appropriate name change, a double double as it were.

laughing My Tongue in cheek reply
laughing Hey Paws
Here is your My Online Team Express
Would you like to sit up front and ring the bell
Or would you prefer to chase it down the track
Make a change from chasing cars, hey mate, LOL
We only stop to let new members climb aboad wink

biggrin Paws Reply
How do I add the Choo Choo?? confused I want it! crying Iwant it! crying crying

smile If you have been keeping up with currents events you will note that the locomotion fixation is all just a fun diversion for a few of the more peverse and midly inexplicable minds, of some of us startlingly, fun loving members here.

smile As Julied put it
Congratulations to all. A special thanks to those members whose recent activities have given us rank and file a welcomed shot of enthusiasm and energy. Good timing.

smile I hope this puts your mind at rest, in regards to some of the events that have taken place in the last few days
smile You can rest easy, in the safe knowledge that My Online Team will always be MY ONLINE TEAM

Re: Join Mot(e!!!) and you just might save the world

When I was sleeping . . .

something unexpected but exhilirating happened to the members of MOTE.

There was a startling outburst of creativity. The article was very funny. The collage was really first-rate. And all the posts had more energy than ever. hugs

Even Dave had a sense of humor about going to the VAH. Now THAT is good humour! Good luck with the Appts, buddy.

Re: "I feel compelled to paint you the real picture here"

OK, let's have some more fun and bounce this creative ball around.

If we were to change the team name to MOTE (or give the one we have some spice) we would have a triple entendre. thinking

With the word "Express" being part of the team name we would be using the dynamic locomotive as a metaphor for the Team. A dynamic metaphor has much more appeal than does a static one. wink

It would be a funny play on words as the Team name/acronym "MOTED" usually means "put down", but here it means "Get MOTED!!!" or, join our team by getting 'My Online Team Expressed' ", "Expressed" meaning the act of joining the Team. batting eyelashes

Lastly, "Expressed" also has the meaning of: "to give expression to" - in the manner/style of our team, "My Online Team Express." raised eyebrow

Now THAT's a lot of appeal in an otherwise (sorry here sad ) mundane name.

Of course, the caution is that you know TW will immediately turn around and say, "Sure, join MOTE and get railroaded." They are way too sharp a bunch to miss this easy opportunity! tongue

Do you have Snickers Chocolate Bars in your part of the world?
