This thread is about earthbound weather, ours still too warm and total absence of snow on the ski-slopes... just the highest tips at 3K meter and above have little tufts. 20C it was last Monday, 14C yesterday.
Statistically Earth has seen the warmest La Nina year in recorded history and we've been in La Nina ENSO state since Q2 2010 and is expected to last till at least 2nd quarter 2012. The Scots just saw a storm they'll remember for a little with wind velocities of 260Km/Hr... power lines just snapped. Off Norway there was the lowest pressure system, also in recorded history. No snow in the Swiss/Austrian Alpes to mention. River Rhine breaking lowest water table levels since ever. Winter nights are meant to be white and bright... they arrent now. Unseasonably warm today 46F (7.5C). No snow in the immediate future. Right around 32F(0C) for the next week or so.

14th Day of the meteorological winter on the Northern Hemisphere, we saw the skislopes under a medium high slivered clouds sky... horizontal visibility 60 clicks... nice heather green with a little purple here and there. The Gran Sasso range has a horizontal divide in a perfect straight line, above 2800 there's thin snow. The bougainvillea on the terrace is still blossoming. The mandarin trees are bending under the fruit load.
