Belted down all day and then, just after lunch I put my back out just to finish it off.

Got a meeting this evening so will have to stagger out but will try not to stay too long.

A sunny day and so managed a quick trip into town to finish my pressie shopping.

The back has eased off and is now just a slight nuisance. And, no it wasn't stretching for holly just leaning into the larder to get a bottle of champagne to put in the fridge as it's the wife's birthday tomorrow.

The meeting was a local council community one. They allocate a certain amount of money to each ward each year for local projects and interested parties can then put forward a proposition which has to be properly costed with details and audited before being finally agreed.

The Village Association put forward an appeal for the remaining two planters in the area to be refurbished and given a proper design gardener's approach. This came to a bit over six grand and, subject to audit has been approved. All the others have been refurbished by money raised by the Association or, in a couple of cases, sponsored by local business firms.
