Not quite that simple Ivan. The current fridge/freezer is very large/quite new and freestanding! (It was here when I arrived!) Added to which it doesn't match anything else in the kitchen. I am having a new kitchen next Wednesday with very nice integrated fridge and freezer and the current one MUST go! I toyed with the idea of trying to sell it but what the h***, I just want it gone! So I will keep it (maybe in the bedroom!!) until the new kitchen is installed and then "ring the man" who hopefully will come and take it off my hands.

It'll soon be gone! ![]() I got rid of a few things that way that I couldn't get rid of any other way. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() blowing like a good un tho .......... >>>>>>>>>>>>> Having said I was enjoying the relief of the rain .The last weeks of the White stuff were sunny and bright and I for one felt quite up beat. the onset of rain casts a gloom on the day SAD is a reality. any way cheer up folks . To misquote from Shaw's Pygmalion ; " Earthquakes 'ardly ever 'appen in Hingland" ............. I mentioned the other day that I was contemplating stopping my daily paper when my prepaid discount tickets finished as it happens not till early February....... Sadly on Thursday a letter dropped through the letterbox due to the current financial climate and the un sympathetic un supportive attitude of the Royal Bank of Scotland. my news agent of 30 years was with regret ceasing trading. They are one of three shops " on the corner" the newsagents.A hair dressers, and a Spar shop. The Spar shop 18 months ago had an upgrade & started selling news papers and Bday cards in hind site the nail in the coffin. I had had feelings of guilt about my proposed end of the arrangement. I always try to support the local trader, We have had the same "paperboy" James for 4 years, now a young man. Missed deliveries in wind rain snow & ice maybe three or four in the 30 years. The shop was /is a proper corner shop the place you popped into for the tube of glue drawing pins last minute birthday card . Then of course there were chats about the weather the state of the nation and the effects of the Knee operation Mrs newsagent . The owners dog who always greeted you with wagging tail .Gonna miss them ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 6 times, last edit by densnaps at Jan 16, 2010 10:11:35 AM] |

![]() "If a nation values anything more than freedom, it will lose its freedom; and the irony of it is that if it is comfort or money that it values more, It will lose that too" Somerset Maughan This Royal throne of Kings And Queens, this sceptred Isle This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars This other Eden, demi-paradise This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war This happy breed of men, this little world This precious stone set in the silver sea Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house Against the envy of less happier lands This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England Shakespear "King Richard 11" Act 2 scene 1 May be I am old and see things differently than the young but I yearn for the days when cricketers wore white and the union jack flew above civic buildings, when young ones gave up thier seat on the bus to the elderly, when church bells rang out on Sunday mornings and the band played on the bandstand in the park, when hopscotch and hiding seek were played in the street and Mum was always at home with your tea ready when you came in Sigh ![]() Take care all ![]() ![]() Old Reminiscing Sage [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 16, 2010 6:02:01 PM] |

Evening all
I scripted a quite long reply but then managed to delete it rather than insert. Probably just as well. Let's just say I don't (when I think of our history) think that being 'British' makes us in anyway special. |
