Been a very nice day today, managed to get quite a bit of gardening done.
Nice to see the back of the rain. |

Evening all
Yes Sunshine all day but it's still Sunday let's see if the Bank Holiday Monday can keep it up or revert to form. Just in the middle of watching Behind Closed Doors on rented DVDs. It must have passed me by when it was on the Tele but it is extraordinary. The sort of deals that go on in time of war regardless of the human cost still frightens me. |

Well Its Spring Bank Holiday.
----------------------------------------not the whit Holiday My childhood memories of Whitsun were The scout camp long weekend, The trek cart containing ex army Bell tents billy cans, getting sun burnt Digging Latrines, Food, each scout bought selection of veg all went in the pot eggs and milk from local farm. We got back home on Monday morning and went to the Whitmonday sports Schools and adults went in for racing round the football pitch I recall Esmond Knight coming to open the sports one year bringing with him a eagle ........ The Highlight of the sports, Fun races ,coconut shies and Tilt the bucket A heavy wooden Wheelbarrow was the means of transporting a victim who had a pole, the pole was thrust Thrown through a small hole fixed below a wooden bucket filled with water . The wheel barrow was hard enough to push but as the afternoon progressed the split water made the going slippy I have found a modern you tube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WlB3B5ewWM looks very much an easier task but fun in the sun |
