Re: The Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Crunching Chart

@Speedy51
CMD2_ 1896-1Z6T_ C.clustersOccur-2UYY_ C.clustersOccur_ 21_ 1
...
I have a question. At the end of each name there's a number, take 21 in bold at the top what does this number refer to?
Depending on the number and toughness of positions to compute for a pair of proteins (e.g. 1Z6T and 2UYY in your example) several (nnn) parent tasks are necessary to complete the job, each numbered from 0 to nnn-1. The parent you are quoting is the 22nd of the set.

Another numbering scheme could have been to use the position numbers (like for children and below) from the parent level but the names of all levels below would have been even longer than they are already. smile

PS: If your next question is "are the two long clustersOccur strings in these names really necessary?" I can only answer "I hope so". Somebody else will be necessary to explain why they had to be included in all these task names. smile

If I remember correctly, right at the very early stages of this particular project, it was asked as to whether these two long clustersOccur strings could in fact be removed/shortened. I don't remember that there was a response back then, so, I very much doubt that anything will happen now - except that the project will end as it currently stands...

Re: The Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Crunching Chart

Maybe planted a search algo and uses the first and second ''clusterOccur" to be unmistakably sure what is compared with what... the six characters before these fixed fillers... many roads to Rome, and but for looking a little long on the Result Status page and stretching the column for task names in the BOINC Manager...

Maybe Nico_B does an update of ''official'' progress tonight, or maybe done it already on the other blog I cannot find back somehow [Jean gave the address year or 2 ago]

That's my guess too, but still, I think it could have been a little shorter. Anyway... smile

Nothing new (yet?) since May 30th on my favorite references (usually updated simultaneously) :

Just in case, my latest parent is from batch 1930 and latest child is from 1928.

That great, Jean! I like great-grandchildren most though... gives a solid sign the batch is winding up.

Re: The Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy Crunching Chart

I rarely see grand-grand children nowadays, but I have re-filled my quad early this morning with many 1929 and 1930 grandchildren, while I am seeing a 1945 parent Ready to Report in my old P4. smile
