I just earned my third sapphire, this time in HPF Phase 2. I already had 2 years on Help Conquer Cancer and FightAids when the new badges arrived, and I was close enough on HPF that I figured "why not?".
Aside from adding my work PC at the start of this year, all of my crunching has come from my home PCs. My wife complains that the fan on her PC runs all the time but that's the price we pay to save humanity! ![]() |

I think it could well be a combination that all (or, at least, the majority) of badge hunters are either concentrating on DDD-T(1), CEP, IADS or the fact that this project has been/will be around for quite some time that they're not currently focusing on it...

...Also if they do as I am sure they will add badges for 5, 10 and probably 20+ years... As mentioned elsewhere on the boards, if and when new badge levels are created, they will most probably be in the line of 4, 8, 16, ... years. Those levels are only reachable for longtime crunchers, or heavy contributers. On this project I have 9 years now ![]() HPF2 and FAAH are probably the hardest projects for new users to catch up with. Any new badges will be most noticed here, or so I think. |

Sapphire #9; seems that I have run the table. I guess I need either new badges or new projects.
I hope that WCG does not do something so geeky as design badges for 4,8 and 16 etc. I think the only logical choices are 5, 10, (20 or 25), 50 and 100. |

Whats' wrong with using powers of 2??? you could just put the exponent directly on the badge and then everyone would know exactly how much crunching time you have ...
2^5 FTW ... you got 32 years !!! Yes, as much of a geek as I can be at time, I think that increments of 5 and 10 and then perhaps orders of magnitude make way more sense to the general public. |
