I am now rank 500 in points, I reach this goal a lot earlier then I originally imagine. Lets see how far I can go.

Congratz Hypernova on reaching the 1 million points threshold. You scored 1,052,940pts yesterday. Thats 13th place overall. Major props, hopefully one day (probably in about 5 yrs) I will be able to score half that.

Then I got the bug. I am actually doing 4 or 5 days per day now. I recruited my wife's laptop (dualcore), my six years old desktop (dualcore too) and I have a new laptop (dualcore) so now I have six cores crunching. I am hoping to replace the desktop with an i7 or a phenom X6 soon. So may be I will catch up with my grandsons (I have a 5 month old - I was ahead of him when he was born, , a 3 and a 4 year old).. still I am too far from 150 days/day so no Mathusalen for me. Don't worry Gil II, you are on the right path. You will see that now that you have the bug it is difficult to stop. And in a year or two new processors are coming. There is a 10 core (20 with HT) announced by Intel. So you can make with new technology a big jump in a very short time. Imagine a dual socket machine with 40 cores. You would just with one such machine, if properly overclocked with fast RAM, produce not far from 200'000ppd.  You should already start a new bank account, were you would put in every month, a small sum for such a future machine, if your wife agrees (she may have other priorities  ). |
