Re: Christians are giving......come give with us!

Hmm... I had removed the extra space in my username and it reset my post count and removed my signature, as if a new profile had been created. I added the space back in and everything is back to normal! biggrin

Welcome to the hidden quirks of the forum software. You can change your username all you want and WCG knows you're the same person and keeps up with everything everywhere EXCEPT the forums. The software there seems to insist that a new name is a new user and wanting to change your username is an event that never happens so you lose your sig, post count and access to your old posts. Lovely. Oh well, compost happens.

Ah, that's what I figured. I changed it to make it easier setting up a Linux machine via command line. I sure don't want my post count to start over though! Thanks!

Re: Christians are giving......come give with us!

Anybody here watch Formula 1 racing? I am not a fan of the new qualifying rules. When you have several minutes left in qualifying and no cars are on the track, that's a huge problem. I was going to try to make it out to the U.S. Grand Prix this year but won't waste my money on qualifying day if they keep the new rules in place. It was incredibly boring to watch and most of the teams and drivers are not happy with it.

They realized how stupid the new rules are and have already agreed to go back to last years rules.

I'm glad to hear that! I don't know how they couldn't figure that teams would try to game it by watching the clock. Formula 1 has some inane rules, but that one went to the top of the stupid list.

I'm glad to see Haas F1 score points on their debut!

I used to follow it a bit about 10 years ago. I went to some of the USGP stuff in Indy. Speaking of inane, the 2005 tire fiasco didn't do much to win fans around Indy.

I remember that! Wow, that was in 2005? Time flies. I actually stopped buying Michelin tires until last year as a result of that race. Edit: Pirelli, one of the original tire providers, has been the sole provider since 2011.

NBC SN has been doing a great job with coverage. I set my DVR to record all the practices sessions, qualifying and the race since it's usually on at odd hours for those of us in the US. I also record the F1 Extra and Off the Grid shows. They also post videos on their site: http://www.nbcsports.com/video/league/f1

Haas F1 is owned by Gene Haas of Stewart/Haas racing. It's the first American team since Penski and Parnelli in the 70s. Haas F1 was the first team to win points in their debut since Toyota did it in 2002. Haas F1 is a very small team compared to Toyota! They are also the only American team to accomplish that.

One of the American cars was retired as a result of a horrific crash with former world champ Fernando Alonso. It's amazing that Fernando walked away from it. There wasn't much left of his car. The other American car, driven by Romain Grosjean, came in sixth and scored some decent points.

Here's a recap of the race: Australian Grand Prix. They show the crash about 25 seconds into the video.

they knew, the drivers were with the fans saying it was stupid. They just didn't care. It took getting slapped in the face with it to respond.

Bernie better change his tune on not letting Haas have a share of the money. They got those points fair and square Sun. We record the very same things ^-^
