Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

The reduction in consumption....

It can no longer be afforded in the UK and people have to sit in the cold and dark rather than pay out 20 pence per KWh (32 US Cents/Unit)

We are surrounded by natural sources of power. Have truly huge reserves of gas and 200 years worth of coal resources below our feet.

And yet Electricity, and Gas, are unaffordable due to massive profit taking and punitive taxation driven through by green insanity (Canadian Forest shipped to the UK to be burned type insanity)

Can't build new non-nuclear because of the Zealot's who then embrace Nuclear as Green

and I'm the loon (!!!!!!)

See thread title

Oh well at least we are helping keep the CO2 levels below 0.04% and the Earth won't boil the Oceans while we freeze

Big up to the Climate Crisis we are [not] living through peace

again see the dawn of the truth of this threads title and the truth of the contents of that first post.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Seriously ?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-23730308

It will harm the Swans

Fracking (a word that couldn't have been better designed for use in the pejorative sense!) will take place 10,000 feet (over 3Km/1.9 miles) below the surface

Highest mountain in the UK is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scafell_Pike at 3,209 ft. Pile 3 on top of each other turn them upside down and that's where the Gas lies in the Bowland basin

Surface disturbance - underground pipelines and drill head. End result cheapest current power source for centuries to come

But what about the Swans !!

When the lights go off and the heating doesn't work in the middle of winter or it is simply no longer affordable... at that point no one will give a monkeys about the Swans.

Nonsense. As budgets are stretched to the limit Swans will be increasingly popular:
A royal treat

LOL Great find Harriscott

I have to share this

World Vasectomy Day Crowdfunding Video

Don't say you were not warned.

There's absolutely no end to this insanity.

Note we are only just over 110 years from being extinct as a species if we don't have Children however many there are of us today.

-

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

before some individuals, and eventually Governments, think that we should be measured only in terms of our Carbon Footprint

Yours

"Still in full working order" Autumns wink

What will happen on World Vasectomy Day?

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/world-vasectomy-day

Vasectomies performed: The world’s most prolific vasectomist, Dr Doug Stein will perform vasectomies in front of an audience at the Royal Institution of Australia (RiAus) – Australia’s national science hub – to launch the inaugural World Vasectomy Day.

Dr Stein

Streamed live: The event will be the world’s first live-streamed vasectomy-athon. Dr Stein will field questions from both the live Adelaide audience and an international online audience.

Discussion: There will be a gathering of diverse thought leaders including population expert and author of The Population Bomb Professor Paul Ehrlich who will weigh in on the social, political, cultural and ethical issues raised by the event and Dr Stein’s mission to save the planet… one vasectomy at a time.

Multiple locations around the globe: While Dr Stein performs vasectomies live from the RiAus in an unorthodox ‘operating theater’, doctors around the world will also perform vasectomies, connected to the event via Skype and social media platforms.

CDC: Environmental Justice Is ‘Access to Healthy Homes, Healthy Food, Transportation' -

(CNSNews.com) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention posted a video on its website to provide the definition of environmental justice, specifically when it comes to communities.

“The health of a community suffers when people don’t have access to healthy homes, healthy food, transportation, fresh air and safe neighborhoods,” the narrator stated in the video.

Oh no the North Pole is disappearing !!!

Oh wow look at all the extra Sea Ice at the South Pole !!

Where's the gray average line gone in 2013 ?

Oh that's right it's completely hidden by this years.... reality

If my maths is correct wink the global Sea Ice anomaly is currently 0 sq kms

Terrifying this catastrophic man made global warming isn't it laughing

Our Globe is completely out of whack and anyone who claims it isn't is a tin foil hat wearing flat earther, suffering from the Dunning–Kruger effect, funded by Enron and in complete denial of the settled science.

I'm Proud to be counted among that group standing up for the truth in the face of that level of personal abuse. If you think I wasn't .... you missed it before it was deleted from the forum. They know who they are.

Gas fired power station

Emergency shut down procedure

1) Take off line
2) Find Gas inlet valve
3) Turn off Gas supply
4) Wait for it to cool down
5) Go home and contemplate just how many Swans were harmed in the process.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Just gone through a 1000 days biggrin

Behind the scenes it's been running since the 24th Nov 2010 (That's how you get a 30 day average from kick off wink )

24,000 hourly averages from 61,126,192 individual station measurements

An average of 2546 weather stations reporting per hour

I really need to do that audit so we are comparing apples with apples. Looks like we lost the Coastal Siberian Weather Stations this year sad Egypt and Syria will be next sad
