You wrote: ....in fact if I were the techs and wanted a much wider dissemination (virtual parallel processing in stead of serial) thus average speedier return, I'd pretty quick go mum after the first few B and C types have been fed into the system. Not sure what you mean by that; can you please clarify? I think he means not to alert the "hoovers" so that the tasks get spread out more widely amonst the general population. In parallel means all-at-once as opposed to serial meaning one-at-a-time because the wus are all in just a few "hoover" computers. hope that helps ![]() |

Yup, allowing someone else to paraphrase made sure that my itanglish was understood. Clearly you washed your ears when you had your last bath. Now I'm going to visit the hoover site because I want one of their computers... the one I have sometimes sounds like it... usually near a tough phase of a MD task. ;>)

My mom did indeed have a vacuum cleaner of the Hoover brand. A very typical design with the dust bag made of tissue, vertically fixed to the electric broom. It is ages I do not see that brand any more in shops around here in europe. On the intenet I saw that they are still existing in the US with recent bagless designs. I have Dyson models at home. As you know the succion force is not diminishing as the reservoir of dust is filled. The perfect design for WCG crunching. ![]() My future two socket machine will be "dysoning" WU's ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Hypernova at Mar 3, 2010 9:36:41 AM] |

It seems this project is hit or miss. More miss lately from what I have seen.
There's nothing wrong with that, these folks are doing what they can, with what they can. There is no way they can really predict when their results will be ready, when they will be ready for a next batch etc. They will just do what they have to and hope that when they are ready for the next batch of work, folks are still out there waiting for them. This is a noble thing. this fully demonstrates the 'donate' concept. You do what you can, when you can. If you look into the soul of a true donator they are not too worried about how many 'points' they will get from this project, how much 'that' project will push them up the ranks with their peers... and all that stuff. They just do it when they can, because it's helping, nothing else really. Yes people who have the resources hate to see them lay idle because the project is currently in a standstill phase. It happens though. May I suggest while we are all waiting for more Fever Rain, that perhaps we adopt another project? Clean Energy Project II is a decent one that I have seen. Actually all of them are to be honest, just pick another, attach to it, and let it run, when you see this one come back alive, take the others off your list and you will get a full fill of what you need here. Either way, no matter which project you ended up computing for. humanity benefited from it. Isn't that what it's all about in the end? Aaron |
