I'm not sure if this is going to work, because there might be a word limit per post, and I'm definitely not sure if the end notes are going to work, but here goes...

Not sure if it's a word limit but there is definitely a size limit. I have to deal with it posting the year-to-date stats.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 42 smilesmile

Well, we're a quarter of the way thru 2010. So far, we have ten YTD millionaires and RT is less than a week shy of breaking ten million for the year. Is that a deca-millionaire? We're up to an average of 426,385 per day. That's on pace for a 155,630,351 point year. To reach a pace to break 160 million means averaging 438,356 per day. Looking at the monthly numbers, we look like this:

Month Points Days Points/Day
January 12,379,913 31 399,352
February 12,293,411 28 439,050
March 13,701,283 31 441,977

As you can see, we're pulling our average up each day! It's nice to see folks upgrading to the new machines (but keeping their old ones crunching) but let's see what we can do about getting more new members.

BTW, that big event projected to happen around the end of summer? That would be RT taking over the number one spot in the team rankings! A lot can change between now and then and it may be later on in the fall depending on how much he'll have to scale back during the heat of summer. Still, he's averaging 104,467 points a day. That alone is way impressive! Hard to believe that 30-40 people on any given day can do 155+ million points a year's worth of crunching!

Edit: I should add that since things supposedly come in threes, since we've played a big role in HIV/AIDS research already, maybe a big breakthrough in cancer research is next!!!

Good Morning MOT! Have a great APRIL FOOL'S DAY!

You know, I recall BMW running an ad in the April issue of a car magazine touting their new sunroof. It was designed to be open at any time. You could even drive with it open in the rain and not get wet. Anyone got a good April Fool story, or better yet, been a part of a good one?

Thank you for the kind words (really), but how can I sneak up on Gerald if you point it out? smile

The HIV/AIDS progress that we contributed to makes me feel great!!! That alone makes it all worth it. But a similar breakthrough in Cancer??!! That would make me ecstatic! biggrin biggrin biggrin

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 42 smilesmile

As you all know, I am sold on the dictation software called "Dragon NaturallySpeaking" by Nuance. Today Nuance announced the following:
BURLINGTON, MA – April 1, 2010 – Nuance Communications, Inc. today announced Dragon Mumble Edition, a new add-on vocabulary pack for its popular Dragon family of products for Windows PCs, Macintosh computers and Apple iPhone platforms. Based on years of advanced research and large volumes of data collected from difficult to understand speakers, Nuance is now making its world-renowned speech recognition products available to a whole new class of users.
If you would like to read the entire announcement, here is a link to the Mumble Edition announcement.
