After two weeks trying...

Still "03/03/2010 21:29:59|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2"

Shall I give up the idea if working for that project ?

Pity, but, I keep crunching for the others...

Don't give up. There were only about 1000 initial work units for this project. We are expecting more from the researchers within a few days. It still may be a couple of more weeks before we get to the type C work units, which should create the bulk of the calculations for this project. Please be patient as work will come :)

Don't give up. The bulk of the project is yet to come.

rembertw, I've got some good (and bad) news for you. Firstly, the good news - it's certainly my intention to pull out of this project and leave all the remaining WU's for others to add towards their badge collection - although the bad news is that I'll only be doing this once I've got my Gold badge biggrin

Re: After two weeks trying...

Haha,

I like the good news you gave me. Thanks!

It doesn't really matter. I aim for the sapphire badge, and the odds look pretty good of actually getting it once the C's start coming out on regular basis. One cruncher more or less will not make the difference.

Something that would make a difference to help me and others with older computers is (techs, are you reading along?) if the C-type work units would be distributed one or two hours after an A-type batch left the feeder. That way fast machines concentrate on the heavy tasks, leaving the lighter stuff to lighter machines, thus avoiding monopolising the project by the heavy machines. cool

I realise there are several reasons not to do as I suggest, and I happily ignore them. biggrin
