Re: problematic batches?

Uplinger,

Is there a limit on how many copies of these will be sent out?

I understand what you were saying about them proving that the target/ligand is not good and that they will likely eventually be marked valid if they compare.

Was just wondering how many "re-treads" it takes before no more copies of a particular WU of this type are no longer sent out?

I just received and crunched copy 7 (underscore 6) of this one which also resulted in an error after about 10 minutes of processing.

Result Name: erlc_ a127_ pcb004_ 6--
<core_client_version>6.10.24</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<stderr_txt>
INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning.
called boinc_finish

</stderr_txt>
<message>
<file_xfer_error>
<file_name>erlc_a127_pcb004_6_2</file_name>
<error_code>-161</error_code>
</file_xfer_error>

</message>
]]>

Thanks,

Hutch

Re: problematic batches?

Your copy is the last [nr.7]... if you look now on the Result detail there should not have been any additional copy sent, as that's where the trip ends automatically.

Re: problematic batches?

As for that error -161, are they all the same in the various result logs? The description of yours is:
ERR_NOT_FOUND -161

This happens when you have an inconsistent client_state.xml file. Files aren't written to it.
Task not found would be the error message.

Re: problematic batches?

Looks like you are correct. No other copies sent out after mine.

Thanks Sek

And yes, they were all 161's for this WU.

Re: problematic batches?

-161, That should mean that a required file for uploading did not exist.

But I believe the rule for the work units is 5 returned as error and the work unit is not sent out again. This could mean some are in progress so more than 5 copies out there.

Re: problematic batches?

Sounds very logical [or I have one more blond moment]... on the 4th error, copy 6 goes out, on 5th error copy 7.

Re: problematic batches?

well, there could be someone with no response, so 7th copy goes out.
