Nice shower!
I was able to fill my 2 buckets. If estimated runtimes are not too far off then I got enough to reach the next badge level. ![]() |

Thanks for this wonderful tropical rain shower.
Since Uplinger provided us with an exact weather forecast, everyone could have been well prepared for the flooding. |

Tasks have been trickling onto various systems of mine for about 2 hours. It has not been a flood, it seems that the tasks are being fed into the server in small steady amounts, so hopefully this time more people will get tasks, depending of course on which way brollies are turned
----------------------------------------![]() - Started off getting (DDDT2 6.17) erlc_d... tasks - will take anywhere from 50min to about 3hours on my systems. - 10day report deadlines. - Now getting erls_a... tasks too - about the same size and deadline. That shower looks over. Perhaps they will load more later today, perhaps not? The tech said over the next few days there would be showers, so I expect there will be a few more releases over the next week. [Edit 4 times, last edit by skgiven at Apr 9, 2010 1:27:02 PM] |

totto, I do not know how soon we can make it rain more constantly. It may never come to that. But we are wanting to get away from these weeks without new work. Here is what is being worked on: ts01 - we have completed some type A batches, awaiting for them from the researchers ts02 - we have started some type B batches and look forward to more type B as the rest of type A complete. ts03 and ts04 - We can't seed the clouds properly, so no rain. We are having issues with the prerun work units and are working with the researchers to resolve this issue. ts05 - Since ts03/4 are having issues, I ran these through prerun and they completed without a hitch. So, we'll get to see some monster drops of rain in the near future. 1000 prerun results returned, and another 750 prerun results are being uploaded now. ts06 - TypeB completed today and we're hoping to see some typeC's from the researchers. erlc - This has some typeC work units coming soon (one batch will be erls for a rerun). This is what I have in my knowledge at the moment. Hope it helps explain that many things are in many states and the juggling is on my plate as well as the researchers. Again, I am sorry if people have not received a work unit or only a few, the servers do not discriminate except for hardware requirements and reliable state. This has been discussed in other threads. Thanks, -Uplinger Thanx for detailed info .. I received few "drops" !!! When trying to get more I got the following info: 9.4.2010 16:02:42 World Community Grid Message from server: No work sent 9.4.2010 16:02:42 World Community Grid Message from server: No work is available for Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 (Type A) 9.4.2010 16:02:42 World Community Grid Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the website. 9.4.2010 16:02:42 World Community Grid Message from server: (there was work but it was committed to other platforms ) and I got one (silly?) question: For which platform it is refererring as "other platform" , I'm running Windozes so is there plenty of work for example for linux ?! I don't know what the percentages are, although I'd guess that the Windows work get's sucked up the quickest...

As far as I understand it, the first workunit picked up dictates for which platform the other copies are.
Eg. if I pick up a workunit on a Windows machine, the other copy of that work unit goes to another Windows machine. If I pick up the first copy of a work unit on a Mac, the copy of that work unit goes to a Mac as well. It's not a matter of a % assigned to Windows, a % assigned to Linux etc. |
